The beginning ... August 30, 1999

We found our land (on the 4th Fairway of Ridge) in the Fairways at Pole Creek. Everything about it spoke to our hearts so we decided to take huge leap of faith and buy the land ... in pursuit of our dreams! Well, three more years passed before we decided to take the next step in pursuit of our dream home. During those years, we spent alot of time working hard, saving our money, golfing the Fairways at Pole Creek and dreaming of our futue "cabin"!

July 26, 2002

After much planning and thought, we finally decided that it was time to get busy building so we hired the best architect (Chris Weber - Architect's West) and the best builder (Bob Boxwell - Boxwell Construction) we could find, then ... broke finally ground! In the process of digging our foundation., Kevin (our excavator) hit a large section of rock and Boxwell (our builder) had to call in the "big boys" to blast the rock out. (These are the same guys that did all the blasting work on Berthoud Pass!) Wow - Tons of preparation with lots of explosive charges ... When all was ready to blow, Paula had the honor of pushing the button - BOOM - the dirt barely moved and it was all over in a few short seconds!

After what seemed to be forever ... the lower level slab foundation was poured and ready for framing to begin.
